Sowing Indoors

Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 10-15°C and keep moist.

Growing On

Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant to 5cm apart into trays of potting compost. Alternatively transplant individually to small pots.

Advice

Pick leaves or sprigs often to encourage young new growth. A light annual trim with shears after flowering will neaten the bush. Do not trim too hard as Thyme doesn't regrow from old wood. Can be used fresh or dried.
