Sowing Indoors

Level fill a tray with Westland Seed and Cutting Compost firming with the base of another tray. Water well with a fine rose. Scatter seeds thinly, covering with vermiculite. Place in a propagator at 20°C or cover tray with cling film and leave in a warm room.

Growing On

When shoots appear, remove cling film. Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When the seedling has at least 4 leaves, transplant 5cm apart to trays of Westland Houseplant Potting Mix or singly into small pots. Grow on in a minimum temperature of 12°C.

Advice

Once seedlings have germinated, avoid overhead watering. Instead, water at the base of the plants to keep foliage dry and reduce the risk of disease.
