Sowing Outdoors
Sow seed thinly in pre-watered shallow rows, and cover with 2cm of soil. Allow about 30cm between rows. As seedlings develop, gradually thin them until they are about 20cm apart. Keep soil moist until seedlings are established.
Advice
Swedes grow best in well-dug soil that has not been recently manured. They are hardy, and will withstand frost. Lift as required or all together for storage in dry sand until needed.
