Unwins Rosemary is an essential kitchen herb with a distinctive strong perfume and taste. A key ingredient in its native Mediterranean region, Rosemary adds a distinctive flavour to many dishes such as roast lamb, fish dishes and deserts.

Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 10-15°C and keep moist. Note that germination may take up to 8 weeks.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant individually to 8cm pots of potting compost.
Aftercare
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out from early summer onwards. Allow 60cm between plants. Rosemary thrives in dry, sunny, sheltered positions on well-drained soil.
Advice
Harvest regularly to ensure plenty of new growth. Rosemary does not regrow when cutting into old woody growth. Can be used fresh or dried.
