Sowing Indoors

Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth 15-20°C, and keep moist. Cover the tray with cling film but remove as soon as seedlings begin to emerge.

Growing On

Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm apart into trays of potting compost, or individually to 8cm pots of compost.

Hardening Off/Planting Out

Indoor sowing only. Keep seedlings shaded from bright sunlight, then gradually accustom to outdoor conditions 2-3 weeks before planting out, avoiding frosts. Plant out 30cm apart.

Aftercare

Remove dead flower heads to encourage further flowers
