Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray or modules with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly and cover with a little more compost. Place in the warmth 15-20°C.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but out of direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm apart in to trays of potting compost.
Hardening Off/Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside containers for 2-3 weeks before planting out to their cropping positions. Space plants 15cm apart with 30cm between rows.
Sowing Outdoors
Sow thinly in pre-watered shallow rows. Lightly cover with a little soil and keep watered in dry Spells.
Thinning
Thin seedlings to 15cm (6in) apart to allow full development of the bulbs.
