Sow seeds thinly in trays of moist seed compost and lightly cover with a little more compost. Keep the compost moist and place it somewhere warm, such as the kitchen windowsill. When the seedlings are big enough to handle, put into larger pots. When plants are a few centimetres tall stand outside to get used to outdoor conditions before planting out or putting on the patio in pots. Wait until there are no more frosts at night.

Keep them watered, especially in warm, dry weather. Feed once a fortnight with a liquid plant food, following instructions carefully and remove dead flower heads as they appear.
