Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover them with a dusting of sifted compost or vermiculite. Place in the warmth, 20-24˚°C and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle transplant into trays of potting compost 5cm apart or individually into 8cm pots.
Hardening Off/Planting Out
Keep seedlings shaded from bright sunlight, then gradually accustom to outdoor conditions 2-3 weeks before planting out, avoiding frosts. Plant out 40cm apart.
Aftercare
Remove dead flower heads to encourage further flowers. Cut back dying / dead growth in autumn.
