Unwins Early Pea Half Pint Seeds

Unwins Early Pea Half Pint Seeds grow into a wonderful shelling pea plant. Ideal for pots and small spaces. And although dwarf in stature, Half Pint still produces full-sized pods containing six peas.

They are quick to grow and very easy to harvest. Half Pint also show excellent cold resistance down to -6°C (20°F).

Sowing Outdoors

Make a flat bottomed drill, 5cm deep and 15cm wide and water it well. Sow seeds approximately 7.5cm apart, spacing them evenly in a zigzag manner. Backfill with soil, and firm it down with the flat edge of a rake. Alternatively, sow into containers, slowly acclimatising to outdoor conditions and then leaving outside when the risk of frost has passed.

Growing On

When shoots appear grow coolly and steadily. Maintain a minimum temperature of 10°C.

Aftercare

Keep well watered, especially in dry spells.

Advice

As seedlings emerge, the shoots are very attractive to birds; placing a few little twigs over the plants will give some protection. This dwarf variety doesn't require supporting canes.
