Tips & Advice:
Sowing Indoors
Sow thinly in module trays of firm, pre-watered compost, covering with a little more compost. Place in warmth, 15-20°C, do not exclude light and keep moist at all times.
Growing On / Planting Out
Slowly acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions before planting out 15cm apart as soon as the danger of frost has passed, avoiding root disturbance. A lightly-shaded spot is better, as flowering will not be as quick as in full sun.
Sowing Outdoors
Sow 1cm deep, ideally in light shade and keep well-watered, especially in warm, dry weather. When large enough to handle, thin to 15cm apart. Protect from slugs or snails.
Advice
Chervil grows quickly and can be picked until it starts flowering. Sow more than one batch to extend the picking period. May also be grown in containers of at least 30cm in diameter. Self-seeds readily; do not leave to set seed if not desired.
