Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a tray with seed compost and water carefully. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and just cover with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 20-25°C and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm apart into trays of potting compost, or individually into small (8cm) pots.
Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions before planting out in full sun once the danger of frost has passed. Allow 25cm between plants. Plant in well-drained soil in a sunny border, or in good quality compost in containers.
Aftercare
Remove dying flowers to prolong blooming. Water well, especially in hot spells, and feed regularly in summer.
